Asynchronous Online Courses for Middle School Students

These courses are designed with tweens in mind!  We're experienced educators and know how to make learning fun and engaging while also pushing students to make new connections and try new skills.

Asynchronous classes make it easy for homeschool families all over the country with busy lives.  Even though they are asynchronous, these classes will include ample teacher feedback and opportunities for student interaction.

American History Through Graphic Novels

Does your student love learning through graphic novels? In this course, we'll use six graphic novels to explore American history from the Revolutionary War to the Cold War. Students will have an opportunity to discuss, write, research, and even create their own comics based historical stories.

Children of Blood and Bone - An In-Depth Study

This class is an in depth study of Tomi Adeyemi's African influenced fantasy Children of Blood and Bone. Students will explore this epic novel's story, characters, and setting through discussion and activities.

Puzzles, Codes, and Mysteries

Looking for a puzzling class? This course combines history, math, literature, writing, and cryptography as students learn about puzzles, codes, and mysteries. We'll dive into a fun mystery and a meaty nonfiction book. Students will have a chance to put their brains to work solving a wide variety of puzzles every week.

World Cinema

This class will focus on films from all over the world. Students will watch, discuss, and write about recent world cinema. Issues such as history, current events, art, and philosophy will be examined as students consider each film.

Resources needed:
A full list of films can be found in the detailed course information found below. Students will need to gain access to all films. Every film is available through Netflix, free online, or to be purchased or rented via Amazon.
