90 Second Newbery - Make Your Own Film

Do you love books? Are you interested in filmmaking? If so here is a chance to put your passions to work! The 90-Second Newbery is a film festival for kids. To enter you have to choose a Newbery award-winning or Newbery honor-winning book and create a 90-second to 3-minute film. Trying to compress a whole novel into 90 seconds often leads to humorous or absurd films and that's just what the judges want to see! For this class we will study previous entries and help you create your own entry. We will brainstorm ideas, work on scripts, discuss how best to approach your film, and will give feedback.
