Simplify runs a wonderful and supportive group on Facebook called College Confident Homeschoolers (CoCoH for short) that we would love for you to join. This group is for parents homeschooling teens through high school. CoCoH supports you through all the decisions and worries of the high school years and with college applications.
The past week at CoCoH, Farrar and Jill hosted a webinar for parents gearing up to homeschool high school. They talked about their own experiences with homeschooling their teenagers and anwsered questions from members. Next month they will be hosting another webinar dealing with college admissions and will be answering any questions that members may have. To watch and/or participate in the webinar you just need to be a member of CoCoH.
Other happenings in the group this past week :
Farrar discussed homeschooling her own teens and how it is still important to make time to do field trips which seems to be an easier activity if you have younger kids.

“In the moment, it can be really hard with high schoolers. They often have outside due dates for online, co-op, or community college classes. Their extracurriculars are often intensive and time consuming. And you’re worried about getting everything done. It’s very easy to fall into thinking everything has to connect with a credit you’re giving or an experience you can put on a college application in some form. Basically, it’s easy to lose sight of those bigger homeschool goals.
Jill asked for everyone to share about those unique, out-of-the-box experiences that our high schoolers are experiencing. The responses were so varied and inspiring.
And we all supported parents who are filling out the common app, writing up course descriptions, and working on transcripts. We sent out reminders about the FAFSA opening up and discussed letters of recommendations. And the group talked about the latest college admission news.
CoCoH is a small, intimate group that manages to offer a good deal of help and support to parents. We are here to support all families who are on the journey of homeschooling high school to college. If this sounds like a group you could benefit from we would love to have you join us.
