Simplify has wrapped up a successful application season and we are happy to report that the wonderful and amazing teens we worked with this past year got accepted to a variety of schools. The schools ranged from large state schools (University of California Berkeley, University of California Davis, University of California Santa Cruz, and University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign) to small liberal arts colleges (Hamilton College, Knox College, University of Redlands, St. Olaf College to name a few). We had acceptances from the East Coast to the West Coast and globally including Quest University Canada and the American University of Paris. In short, as college counselors, we had a rewarding year and all of us here at Simplify are gearing up for the 2018-19 application season.
This year we are offering a variety of services to help our clients through the application process. We will be offering classes for parents and teens. We have a Common Application workshop and a University of California application workshop. Simplify will be offering classes starting in August and will have them throughout the fall. In addition to small workshop classes we will be continuing with our individual college counseling services for families needing personalized and sustained help. We have packages available for 5 and 10 hours or on an hourly basis. As college counselors we have experience helping clients with
- Transcript evaluation
- Shortlisting colleges
- Application portal help
- College essay help
- Counselor document editing and formatting
- Applying for financial aid
In addition, for any student needing test prep for the ACT or SAT, we recommend Test Rocker for a solid, online prep course. You can read more about Test Rocker and start a free trial here.
With all that we are offering, we at Simplify still felt something was missing. As experienced homeschoolers who often turned to forums and online groups, we realized what was missing: a free support group for parents homeschooling students who are college bound. We envisioned a group where homeschoolers can support other homeschoolers in a supportive, non-competitive environment. From this initial idea came our new support group – College Confident Homeschoolers.
At this time our group is located on Facebook. All four of the Simplify muses are moderating the group and working hard to answer any questions that may pop up. In addition we already have over 50 members and are growing every day. If you are looking for a group of supporting and experienced homeschool parents who are working to get their teens to college than this group is for you. If you would like to join us please head over to our group and request to join. We would love to have you!
